Gillingham/Pan American Fellowships


Established by W.J. Gillingham, this program is administered for RRF by the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO). Two six-month fellowships, providing stipends of $10,000 each, are awarded each year to Latin American ophthalmologists for training at leading institutions in the U.S. and Canada.

American Academy of Ophthalmology Educational Trust Fund

Educational programs administered for RRF by the American Academy of Ophthalmology are funded by endowed estate gifts of Laura I. Cannon and Burt L. Risley, respectively. This program will upgrade clinical research skills in the field of retina.
 

RRF/Lawrence Travel Scholarships

Sponsored by RRF, this program is administered by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and is made possible by the Joe M. and Eula C. Lawrence estate. This program provides $20,000 funded travel awards for 20 young investigators so that they can present papers at the ARVO annual meeting.

Tyson Clinical Research Initiative

The estate gift of Nell Sue Tyson has created earnings to fund clinical research trials in Latin America. This program was begun in 1999 and will continue.
